If you check out the upper right corner of the website, they have an in quotes “AWESOME! (five stars) Unequivocolly The Best TV To PC Software On The Net” from a publication called Interactive Media Magazine. That’s high praise indeed from a well respected publication. What’s that? You’ve NEVER heard of Interactive Media Magazine?

Well, it turns out, there is no such publication. Someone even made a fake website that pokes fun at that fact as well.

Also, there is that big AS SEEN ON TV logo on their site as well. I have never seen it on TV though, have you? (I’m guessing it was probably shown on a public access channel somewhere in the United States in the wee hours of the morning)

First off, SatelliteDirect exclaims 3500 HD Channels and shows a list of countries with the number of channels for each country. However, when you actually use the app, you’ll find there are a lot less.

One example is Japan. The website shows Japan having 389 channels. But when you use SatelliteDirect, you’ll find that it is more like 30 channels, and none of them are regular tv channels. Most of them are webcasts from the parent website. One of them is even a webcam broadcast at a train station! AWESOME! FIVE STARS!
